C\u2019est \u00e0 ce moment que le Grand ma\u00eetre Baosen, \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l\u2019Ordre des Arts Martiaux Chinois, cherche son successeur. Pour sa c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u2019adieux, il se rend \u00e0 Foshan, avec sa fille Gong Er, elle-m\u00eame ma\u00eetre du style Ba Gua et la seule \u00e0 conna\u00eetre la figure mortelle des 64 mains. Lors de cette c\u00e9r\u00e9monie, Ip Man affronte les grand ma\u00eetres du Sud et fait alors la connaissance de Gong Er en qui il trouve son \u00e9gal. Tr\u00e8s vite l\u2019admiration laisse place au d\u00e9sir et d\u00e9voile une histoire d\u2019amour impossible.
